Windows XP lists my firewire (IEEE1394, I-Link) connection in device manager as AV/C tuner under unknown devices and as AVC compliant DV TAPE recorder/player under imaging devices?
The first thing you notice when you connect the JVC Dual Deck to your XP machine via firewire, is two new hardware found boxes that tells you about two new found hardware devices: AV/C Tuner and AV/C Tape: There are no drivers for the Tuner so you can skip this step by clicking cancel. The next found new hardware window is the Tape device. Here you should select the “Install from a list or specific location” option and click next. On the next page you should select “Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install.” option and click next. You should select “Sound, video and game controllers” option and click next. In this window you should select “JVC” as the manufacturer and “JVC Tape Device” as the model and click next.
