will the new ipod nano work with all of the previous docking statios?
The third generation iPod nano comes with a dock adapter, a piece of plastic that sits inside the dock for a standard iPod to fit the smaller nano snugly. Since the nano is smaller than the standard iPod, even with the adapter, it should fit inside the space that would have been occupied by a standard-sized hard-drive based iPod, so any device designed around a full-size iPod should be able to physically fit a nano with adapter. The base dock connector functionality (audio output and play/pause/skip control) should work without problem. The iPod nano only works with USB, so if the thing you are docking with expects to be able to use Firewire (which is what iPods had up through the main family line’s 3rd generation), that won’t work with the nano.
