Why will cellular providers (i.e. Verizon, ATT, and T-Mobile) not allow programmers to retrieve geographic coordinates?
This was selected as Best Answer As a general rule, cellular providers jealously guard any information linked to subscribers for two reasons. The first is legal. The telecom industry has regulations in place to protect customers, and any information that might potentially impact them has to have safeguards in place before being used for any reason. The second is financial. Everything can potentially be ‘productized’ and before these companies will give out this information, they want to see how they can make money at it. If you approach them with a solid plan that offers solid security and profits, they will welcome you with open arms.
