Why water-based polish so much better?
• Environmentally Friendly: Conventional nail polish contains large amounts (typically around 70%) of chemical solvents such as toluene, acetates and alcohol. When nail polish is applied to nails, these solvents evaporate to the air, generating toxic chemical fumes. The air becomes polluted and the odour can be offensive. This is why many people find it is hard to breathe when using conventional nail polish: you are surrounded by heavily polluted air. Skin and nails have shown to be absorbent, these chemicals can work their way into your blood stream. In Suncoat’s water-based nail polish, all the chemical solvents are replaced by water. When Suncoat’s water-based nail polish is being applied to the nails, it is the water that evaporates to the air, not the toxic chemical fumes. • Safer to Nails: The chemical solvents in conventional nail polish, after repeated use, can discolor nails and make nails brittle and weak.
