Why study health systems management?
Montgomery County and the D.C. metropolitan area are attempting to deal with a number of health-care issues, such as expanding access to affordable health care, reducing the cost of prescription drugs for seniors, providing coverage for low-income or uninsured children and eliminating health disparities among minority residents. To deal with these issues, health-care institutions will have to have a highly educated workforce that can manage change in a turbulent environment. This program will provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out administrative functions within the diverse health-care organizations found in the area.
