A. The timing represents a compromise between opening the Race in local daylight and the need to accommodate the real life schedules of our pilots. The event begins just before dawn on Tasmania. In FS2004 and FSX, 1930Z is translated into 0430 Local. (In reality, summertime Launceston is GMT+11 and 1930Z would be 0630 EDT.) Please use Zulu or UTC time for your start—rather than the local time. Depending on the simulator, and whether you have a time zone correction, you may have a different local time showing. (You should be facing very early dawn when you take off. In all likelihood, you will have daylight when you land. Note that the simulators depict dawn in slightly different ways.
