Why some economists blame hospitals for an increase in malnutrition around a country population??
I read two similar articles about malnutrition increasing in UK hospitals. I still, after reading two articles, didn’t understand it either. In one article, it seemed to say that lack of dietitians who understand the nutritional demands of a recovering person causes them, especially in long hospital stays, to slowly lose body mass and have nutritional deficiencies. Another article supported the second suggestion that the food was insufficient to help the body recover from surgery or injury. Basically, they feed you food that is light on vitamins and minerals anyways and that, if you are trying to replace lost blood or heal broken bones or other major healing tasks, the body runs out of the few nutrients that it does get from the food. The body then starts draining nutrients from the body to make up and eventually there is nothing left and the person gets sick or the healing stops. I have a story of a hospital stay of mine.
