Why should I care about vets above other college kids who cant afford to pay?
College is expensive, and there are plenty of kids who need help to pay for their education. But veterans have already demonstrated a commitment to public service that we feel places them in a special light. They have already helped you. Regardless of your stance on war or politics, men and women in our armed services are on watch right now so that you dont have to be. They respond to disasters, take on projects in our communities, maintain our image abroad and even fight for you. In return, we’re asking for a contribution to help them out as they make a transition to the civilian life theyve helped to safeguard. There are relatively few scholarships available to veterans considering the number of veterans who attend school each year. Some veterans are available for scholarships based on academics, economic background or race, but large segments of our veteran population do not meet the criteria necessary for them to receive funds.
