Why is Ranma afraid of cats?
Ranma is afraid of cats because when he was a small child, his father, Genma decided to train him in a martial arts style known as “Cat-fist” (Neko-ken in Japanese). The training involved covering Ranma in fish sausages and throwing him into a room full of cats. Genma later discovered that the technique was phony, but because of Ranma being clawed and bitten by cats he developed his intense fear of them.
