All Councils are required to identify areas of special architectural or historic interest and designate these as conservation areas. The Highland Area Local Plan 2000 contains the proposal to designate a conservation area in Pitlochry. A conservation area appraisal has been produced which identifies what makes the designated area of Pitlochry special and worthy of protection.
