Why does it Rain all the time in London?
It doesn’t rain as much in London as the west of Ireland. After all they have had a drought in the SE of England for the last 3 or 4 years with the water table falling and water restrictions in place banning the use of hosepipes etc. Only in the last winter has there been enough rain to replenish the water table to a certain extent, but another warm summer could bring the restrictions back. Ireland tends to get a larger rainfall due to the south westerly airstream from the Gulf bringing moist warm air up from the south. The first land it can reach is Ireland and it tends to lose the moisture it contains as rain. This is why as a general rule the western side of the British Isles and Ireland tends to be wetter than the eastern side.
