While it takes talent to paint on a canvas, it also takes much skill and patience to create an image in the skin of a living person. Most tattoo artists don’t get health benefits or a retirement plan and most give half of what they make to the owner of the tattoo shop. Many artists are required to supply their own equipment as well.
