Why do snakes move in zigzag manner?

0

snakes have no legs so their stomach muscles contract and as they do so it moves the snake along the ground, it is the way the stomach muscles contract that makes them zig zag as they move along. it is also thought that by moving in a zig zag way it makes the snake harder to catch, than if it was just moving in a straight line.

Only the sidewinder (a type of rattlesnake) moves like this. All other snakes move in any way appropriate to their needs at the time.

i don’t know about that but it is said that when any snake follows us we should move in zigzag direction and in this way they cannot follow us.
