Why do I keep getting the error “Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions Smart HTML interpreter on this non-HTML page”?
This will occur if you attempt to use an ASP page as a confirmation page for one of your forms. The problem is that the FrontPage Server Extensions uses the SHTML.DLL to process web pages and does not ever call the ASP.DLL to process your ASP code. Although Microsoft does not have a specific article about this behavior you can see this explanation in the Cause section of the article 225200. To resolve the problem you should only use the htm or html extensions for your confirmation pages.
