Why do breasts sag?
The main reasons for differences in breasts include age, hormonal fluctuations, pregnancy, weight loss or gain and genetics. Although there is no one skin or body type that cause the breasts to change, it quite simply could be the changes in a woman’s breast volume that cause the skin to stretch and thereby sag. Sagging (called ptosis) results in flattened breasts with a longer shape and nipples that may be pointed downward. In more dramatic cases of ptosis, the nipple area of unsupported breasts hangs lower than the breast crease on the chest. With breasts that sag this significantly, wearing a support bra is a necessity in every day life.
