Why did Russia attack Georgia?
Russia attacked Georgia: -to keep their influence in the region and prevent other countries from joining NATO (like Georgia tried to) -to ensure that Georgia will not limit access to an important oil pipeline -to protect the Russian citizens of South Ossetia (an independant province that is generally recognized to be a part of Georgia) when the Georgia military invaded it -to depose the pro-US leader of Georgia Was it justified: -That depends on who you ask.
