Anesthesia is an exciting, rewarding specialty. You are an integral part of the surgical team. You focus on one patient at a time during his/her perioperative care. You are able to care for a variety of patients from very young to geriatric with a range of medical problems. For the most part, when you leave the hospital you transfer the care of patient to the surgical service. Anesthesia is intellectually stimulating. You are using both medical and technical skills to manage your patients.
