Microsoft Office 2007 for Windows and Office 2008 for MAC files are incompatible with earlier versions of Office. The new document files end in .docx, (Word) .xlsx (Excel), and .pptx. (Powerpoint). In order to view these files on Microsoft Windows, you will need to download the Office Compatibility Pack In order to view these files on Mac OS X, you will need to download the Open XML File conversion tool.
