Why can I bookmark Ebsco or the other research databases from my home computer? Why do I have to go through the library web page every time I want to use a database?

In order to purchase research databases for student use, the library agrees to restrict use to Del Mar College faculty, staff and students. All off-campus access must go through the library web page and the off-campus login page to comply with vendor requirements.
