Military coins are important or challenge coins I should say are important to the units that issue them. Because it identifies who they are, it identifies their units, it identifies where they have been. I would imagine there is a camaraderie behind that. Military coins are probably important to determine who is going to buy the first round of drinks at the bar too. Based on what challenge coins are. However, I think the most important part of challenge coins or military coins would be the fact that it identifies particular units. So if you are in the army, and you are in a special forces or something that coin is a reminder, and that coin is also kind of a membership card to the fact that you were there, and you were part of that unit. There is also something called military currency, which is completely different than military coins. Military currency was issued by the military itself
