Why are High Resolution images on CD more expensive than most prints?

High Resolution images on CD are the digital equivalent of a photo negative. The price is a reflection of the professional quality that goes in to all of our products as well as its value as a negative, which can be used to produce as many photos as you like, in whatever size you like (for non-commercial purposes – see copyright disclaimer). For each High Resolution image ordered, you will receive a disc with 1) the original image taken with the camera (in JPG format), 2) a mastered image that has been color corrected for accurate, vibrant color (in PSD format: Photoshop), and 3) a cropped “print ready” image measuring 4″x6″ at 300dpi which can be taken directly to the photo processor of your choosing. The actual image size will vary depending on the camera used. We most commonly use a combination of Canon cameras including the EOS 1D Mark III (3,888 x 2,592 pixels), EOS 1D Mark II (3,504 x 2,336 pixels), EOS 20D (3,504 x 2,336 pixels), EOS 1D (2,464 x 1,648 pixels), and EOS 1Ds Mark I
