Why are certain Sound Bytes shows in the archive shorter than the full length of the show?

Several times per year, WXXI conducts on-air fund drives to obtain contributions to the station. During the first week the program is available online, it will be available in its entirety. However, as the program is placed in our long-term archive, we will remove the pledge drive material. WXXI does not answer calls on their pledge line outside of pledge drives, and most special pledge offers made during the Sound Bytes show expire one to two weeks after the program is aired. You may still here references to pledges weaved into the program, but the longer appeals will not be kept in the long term archive. However, we do encourage you to consider becoming a contributing member of WXXI. When the station is not running a pledge drive, you can learn more about contributing to the station on the WXXI home page.
