Who was Warren Harding ?
Harding was born in Ohio, and worked as a newspaper publisher. His success grew as he became trustee of the Trinity Baptist Church, director of numerous important businesses, and led many fraternal organizations and charities. In the Citizen’s Cornet Band, which he organized, he played a bunch of different brass instruments. In 1920, Harding won the Presidency by over 7,000,000 popular votes, with an electoral vote of 404 to 127. Harding’s campaign promise was to reduce government interference with business, and to run the government as if it was a business. Republican bills were passed quickly, and his promise was kept.
