This much they do know about Walden: He was born in Sweden in 1909, and emigrated to America as a child, though the date is undetermined. Among the items found in the Waldens’ garage was a newspaper clipping, yellowed and torn but undated, that makes reference to Walden’s having worked as an apprentice under the seminal fashion photographer George Hoyningen-Huene at Harper’s Bazaar magazine. Moro said Walden moved to Miami after working in Chicago and likely Hollywood, where he honed his vocation as a fashion and celebrity photographer.
