The children’s room was named after William D. Berry (1926-1979). He was the artist who conceived of the mural, “An Alaskan Fairy Tale,” as a centerpiece of the children’s room, and who was working on it at the time of his death. Bill Berry was also a noted wildlife illustrator, and wrote two children’s books, Buffalo Land and Deneki.
