Who shouldn use BOTOX®?
BOTOX® should not be used in the presence of infection at the proposed injection site(s) and in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the formulation. Patients with neurological disorders such as ALS, Myasthenia Gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects. How much does it cost? Botox® is charged by units used and each treatment is individualized. When comparing to Dysport® (another protein extracted from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum) remember that you need 2 to 2 1/2 times the Dysport® for the same treatment. Common treatment approximate number of units: • Crows Feet: 20 – 30 units • Forehead wrinkles: 20 – 40 units • Glabellar (between eyes): 20 – 30 units Often the forehead lines should be treated with the glabellar lines to achieve a good result.
