A. All Consortia planning to deliver a Diploma line of learning for the first time need to apply to the Gateway – this includes applications given a Category 4 in either Gateway 1 and/or 2. Q. Have there been any changes to the assessment process for Gateway 3? A. Yes, we have made some changes. This year there will be three Gateway categories; the fourth category (reapply) will no longer exist. This means that consortia which have not met their conditions (and would previously have had to reapply) have a further 12 months to develop their proposals before a review to decide whether they proceed to 2011 delivery. These categories have been designed in recognition of the progress needed in order to deliver the entitlement from 2013 and will ensure that consortia receive the right support and challenge to achieve this.
