Who owns OVAL?
The content of OVAL is a result of the collaborative efforts of MITRE and the OVAL Board, along with broad participation from the information security community. The Board includes representatives from numerous organizations such as operating system and security tool vendors, academic institutions, and government. MITRE maintains OVAL and moderates Board discussions and the Community Forum and Developer’s List email discussion lists. OVAL is sponsored by the National Cyber Security Division at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
