Who or what is OISS?
OISS stands for Office for International Students and Scholars. This is the office that is responsible for the administrative questions of your stay here in the U.S. at NYU. The OISS serves as a central reference point providing you with help in legal, cultural, social, and personal matters. The staff at the OISS coordinates programs with and for international students and serves as an advocate for the university’s international community. They have advisors on duty to answer questions about your visa, working and traveling (when you want to go abroad during Spring Break, for example).
