IMGs pursuing ECFMG Certification who have not passed the ECFMG CSA by the time administration of the CSA stops in spring 2004 will be required to pass the USMLE CSE to satisfy the clinical skills requirement for ECFMG Certification. Applicants who have passed the ECFMG CSA will not be required to pass the USMLE CSE for ECFMG Certification. Students and graduates of U.S./Canadian schools (USMGs) will also be required to take the CSE. The CSE will become a requirement for USMGs, beginning with the graduating class of 2005.
