• Joe Byers is the author of Uncle Dan: A Valentine, presented in New York by both the Lark and the Abingdon Theatres and in Boston by Centastage Performance Group. Centastage also produced Joe’s Shakerman, winner of the Arch and Bruce Brown Playwriting Foundation Competition. TightAss: A Musical Bloodbath (based on Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus) was featured in the Theater Offensive’s Out on the Edge Festival in Boston. Pee Shy was a finalist for the Actors Theatre of Louisville Heideman Award, and The Woman with No Nose won the Palm Springs National Short Play Fest. Joe’s most recent play, Veils, was commissioned and produced by the Diverse City Theater Company in New York.
