WHO IS DEMETRE?
Caffé Demetre was named so, after the owner’s grandfather “Dimitri” who as a young boy, worked in his father’s small town bakery known as the “Yorkville Candy Kitchen” in the early 1900’s. The little shop in South Carolina was famous for it homemade ice cream- made primarily in the hot summer months from fresh cream that was brought in by local dairy farmers.
