Who Is Buying Gov Debt?

(Reply to this comment) by yanster0 Just to note where a lot of this money towards buying US gov bonds are coming from; not only are small time investors in the US moving into bond and bond funds large centeral banks are buying US government bonds in an effort to weaken their currencies (specifically China, Japan, and by a smaller amount the ECB). This money is not looking for good rates of return; it is just looking for safe dollar denominated assests that basically for their purposes have to yield just ahead of cash.
