Who develops the DCAS items?
Development of DCAS items is based on collaboration between DDOE and the DCAS vendor, American Institutes for Research (AIR). Test items have been, and will continue to be sought from multiple sources including multi-state item sharing agreements and educator-led item writing committees. We agree with the position that educator involvement with item development and item review/selection is critical to an aligned, appropriate assessment.
