If you are not going to use the passing of this course for any kind of continuing education credit, you can use a disinterested third party as your proctor. If you would like to receive CE credit for passing this exam, the proctor requirements are determined by the state which will be granting the CE credit. • Exams must be administered at your school or place of business, never at your home or the student’s home. • Proctors must verify the identity of the student and read all of the exam instructions to the student before they begin the exam. • The student must remain under the supervision of the proctor for the entire duration of the exam. If the student is uncomfortable with the proctoring situation (e.g. the setting is one-on-one with the proctor), a parent, friend, or chaperone may be present, along with the proctor, so long as the student does not interact with that person during the exam. Receiving assistance from any person during an exam is considered cheating and is grounds for receiving a failing grade for the course. • The exam must remain sealed until the student is ready to take it, and the exam should never be in the student’s possession except when they are taking it. • Students cannot take the exam with unauthorized books, notes, or reference aids of any kind unless specif

If there is no pre-approved proctor or approved testing site available, the student must choose a proctor who meets the standards for approval by LSU IDL. The student may request approval for a full-time faculty member or administrator of an academic unit of a local college or university that is regionally accredited, or an ALA-accredited librarian at an academic or public library. We cannot approve persons who work part-time or as adjuncts or graduate students at a college or university; nor can we approve co-workers, personal friends, relatives, tutors, neighbors, personal advisors, pastors, employers, schoolteachers or administrators (elementary, middle, high school), any person associated with the athletic department or sports program of a college, university, or high school, or anyone with a potential conflict of interest.
