Who Are the Instructors?
The founders of LionHorse are Candace Marek Younghans and Rosannah Riess. Candace and Rosannah met in 2002 at San Francisco State University in a modern dance class. Since then, they have been training, collaborating and performing in a variety of settings. Rosannah Riess received her Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from U.C. Berkeley in 2003 and is certified as a personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise. She has over 10 years experience training and performing in Classical Ballet, Modern Dance and Aerial Rope. Other areas of athletic study have included martial arts, fencing and rock climbing. In addition to her work in the San Francisco Bay Area, Rosannah has studied at the Palucca Schule in Germany, a university for dance instructors. Candace Younghans will graduate in August of 2008 with a B.S. in Entrepreneurial Business from San Francisco State University.
Master Chuck Buhs is the head instructor and Dr. Peter Halt is the founding instructor. Both Chuck and Peter graduated from U.C. Berkeley and received their black belts in taekwondo from the University of California Martial Arts Program (1987) under the direction of Dr. Ken Min. Chuck and Peter have many years teaching children, teens, and adults. Each is committed to providing a safe, educational, and fun training environment for all members.
