Who are the Beastie Boys?
Officially, the Beastie Boys are three. Michael Diamond aka Mike D, Adam Yauch aka MCA and Adam Horovitz aka King Adrock. The original line-up when the Beastie Boys formed back in 1981 was Mike D on vocals, MCA on bass, John Barry on guitar and Kate Schellenbach on drums. When John and Kate later left the band they picked up Adam Horovitz as the guitarist. DJ Hurricane became their DJ during the Licensed To Ill era but left the group 11 years later, just before the Hello Nasty release circa 1997.
