I’m not a road engineer, nor do I know anything about road construction, but my impression is that most roads have several inches of packed gravel below the asphalt. I’ve noticed on the Timberline project, however, that the base asphalt went directly on top of the packed dirt. Out of curiosity, what didn’t you make a gravel base? Thanks. A curious commuter.
