In 1830 the Crow were divided into three bands: River Crow – Located in eastern Montana on the lower Missouri and lower Yellowstone Rivers Mountain Crow – Located in the upper Yellowstone River valley in southern Montana and extreme northern Wyoming Kicked-In-The-Bellies – Located in the upper Wind River valley and upper Big Horn River valley in north-central Wyoming The area included most of eastern and central Montana south of the Missouri River, and most of the northern 40% of Wyoming.
