Where, specifically, do assassin bugs live?

I found a site that says that “assassin bugs can be found in Europe, Africa, North America, Central America, South America, and other parts of the world.” What other parts of the world? Australia and Asia? As for the United States (and nearby,) I found that they live in Kentucky, Georgia, Mass, Michigan, Texas, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Ohio. Also, Mexico, Southern Ontario, Canada. I bet they pretty much live everywhere because there are so many different kinds! It sounds like assassin bugs can be really painful when they bite you, but generally are pretty safe if you don’t bother them. Some of them carry diseases, primarily these are found in South America and Mexico. From what I read, it is very rare to get something from them in the US and Canada.
