Where must you be to view a total solar eclipse?

0

You need to be somewhere along the path of totality, which is the path the moon’s umbra (full shadow) will follow along the earth’s surface while the eclipse is happening. If you are not somewhere along this path, you will either see a partial eclipse (if you are within the penumbra but outside of the umbra), or you will see no eclipse at all.
