Xiamen is a large coastal city located approximately 500 miles northeast of Hong Kong. It has the fourth largest seaport in China allowing for rapid and low cost shipping to U.S. and European markets. With a population of 2,500,000 people, Xiamen has evolved a significant manufacturing base, and has become home to many major U.S. and Japanese corporations for their Asian manufacturing and distribution operations. Xiamen has a large international airport and has convenient domestic flights to and from Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.
