Where does the money go?
ALPA is accountable, and is audited annually. All details of income and expenditure are available in the Annual Report. Income generated is spent maintaining and improving store infrastructure, to better serve our members. ALPA income is also used to fund benevolent activities, support community events and provide employment and training opportunities.
A. Local authorities are not profit-making organisations. They are there to provide a service to the local community. It is a requirement of Central Government that DPE must be a self-financing scheme. By law, income from the payments of Penalty Charge Notices is received by the Council and primarily used to fund reasonable costs of enforcement. There are strict regulations on how the income can be spent. After the costs of enforcement have been paid, we will continue to invest any surplus funds for the provision and maintenance of on and off street parking facilities. Thereafter, the Council may consider support to public transport initiatives. Surplus money cannot be added to the general council funds. Any surplus will be used by the authority to improve traffic conditions and must be spent in accordance with legislation. Q. How much is it costing to set up the scheme A. Provision has been made in the annual budget for this so the costs are covered by the normal operating expenditure
SOCAN collects licence fees and, after its operating costs are deducted, distributes the revenue as royalties to its members (songwriters, composers, lyricists and their publishers) as well as to affiliated international societies for their members. More than 80% of the monies received from licence fees are distributed to the music creators and publishers entitled to it.
The net proceeds from the sale of the vehicle goes to any tax exempt charity, church, school or non-profit organization nationwide of your choice.
