Where does an applicant go to get fingerprinted?
To ensure the integrity of the fingerprints that will be submitted to DCJS and the FBI, OMH has identified specific locations, called “Designated Fingerprinting Entities,” where applicants must go to have their fingerprints taken. Unless the fingerprints are taken at one of these designated entities, they will not be accepted by OMH.Many New York State Operated Psychiatric Centers are designated fingerprinting entities In addition to these locations, over 150 state, county and local law enforcement agencies in New York State have agreed to participate with OMH as traditional “ink and roll” fingerprinting locations.
