Where do vintage cobblestones originate?
The stone is excavated from old mill streets in turn of the century cities, especially seaport cities. These stones come from the eastern United States. Some were quarried there, while others arrived on ships sailing from europe during the17th and 18th centuries. The stone was used as ballast on these sailing vessels and is commonly known as Belgium Block.
