Where are the Best Signature Drinks in Phoenix, Arizona?

An upscale bar catering to a more sophisticated as well as mixed crowd. This was once the only bar where you could find a good looking crowd on the weekends. Since the opening of more bars in Phoenix, it’s rather empty on the weekends. The place is huge, which makes it look even more empty. The first Friday of the month is usually a good time to go. They have a room for dancing (Club Miami), which is particually bad since other dance specific venues have opened. Overall this place has a lot of potential. I’m waiting to see if they can muster up the crowd that once frequented Amsterdam.

Arrived at 9:30 and it was free cover. Thank god for that because we were told that the bar was reserved for a private party until 10:30.Everyone else had to wait on the small patio outside. It is hot here in June, and waiting outside was not my idea of fun. Finally at 10:30, the masses were let in. It looked great with tons of cushioned booths w/ tables and candles. But, you can’t sit in any of them unless you have a reservation! We didn’t know this so we had to stand the rest of the night. Drinks were overpriced. After 10pm the cover charge is $5. $5 to stand and pay $5/per beer?I don’t think so. I am not kidding when i say $5/beer.This place is overrated and overpriced. Wanna go? Get a reservation for a booth, get there before the cover charge, and bring lots of money!Pros + cool atmosphereCons – need a reservation, expensive drinks, hard to park

This place is awesome! Two years ago, we were visiting Scottsdale on vacation. As lovers of good food and wine, we noticed Tapino and walked to the door to peek inside. The media manager, Wendy, opened the door and invited us inside, even though she knew we’d already eaten elsewhere. It was her kindness that brought us back to Tapino. Now that we live in the area, we’ve been back many times with friends and visitors who never stop talking about the wonderful dining experience. The food is creative, and delicious with unbelievable pairings of the best wine list in the valley. The creativity of owner and Executive Chef James and his staff, who glide around the kitchen creating the eloquent offerings of flavors that burst in your mouth with every bite, is unsurpassed in quality and taste. We’ve never been disappointed. The well informed staff who know every detail about the menu items, and which wine to select with the offering . . . right down to the young man who refills

Drift offers decent beer and wine selections in a pleasant atmosphere. Inside decor is a bit like being at Disneyland, but it works well. The food is interesting and enjoyable. Food and drinks can get pricey, but they have to pay for the atmosphere in one way or another. As others before me have pointed out, the service at this place stinks more often than not. They also have a tendency to turn off the misting system on the patio and crank up the fire-spewing tiki torches too early, leaving you in a puddle of sweat during the hot months. They will turn them back on, though, with a request.Drift is looking to expand its patio into the parking lot and add a waterfall. The designs look pretty cool and seem to include cabana-like havens for more private enjoyment.Bottom line: If you have patience for poor service, Drift offers plenty of enjoyment.Pros + Atmosphere, Concept and DesignCons – Poor Wait Service
