They are stored in the .fYz directory under the master config directory or the .fYz directory under the board directory, depending on the share password among boards option, if passwords are not shared then the one under the board directory is used. By default, there are 32 password files, a hashing algorithm is used to decide which file is used to store a user’s password and profile. This hashing is needed to reduce the size of each password file and improve performance. For example, if a forum has 3200 users, then each file would contain 100 entries only.
