When will the MorElectric be available?
The Caterpillar® MorElectric system is currently undergoing field validation testing, with testing underway on both on-highway and a variety of off-road applications. As a part of Caterpillar’s validation process leading up to commercial production, the hardware under test utilizes production intent tooling and processes as applicable. The MorElectric system is targeted for commercial introduction in the first quarter of 2006. Throughout 2005, Caterpillar is interested in working with additional OEMs and fleets for additional field-testing opportunities.
