PepsiCo acquired Pizza Hut, Inc. in November 1977 through an exchange of stock. Pizza Hut shareholders received 1.55 shares of PepsiCo, Inc. common stock for each share of Pizza Hut. Cash in lieu of fractional shares calculated at a rate of $26.00 per share. Pizza Hut was spun off along with Taco Bell and KFC businesses as Tricon Global Restaurants, Inc. in 1997. Tricon Global Restaurants later becomes YUM! Brands, Inc.
