Being someone’s fan means only that fan gets contacted when a member creates something. If you’re someone’s friend, you’re both contacted when you create something new. Here’s an example. Fans: Morgan is a fan of Tony. If Tony creates a new Slideshow, Morgan is notified. However Tony is not notified if Morgan creates a new Slideshow. Friends: Morgan and Tony are friends. They both get notified when they create new things on Slide.
